Phase IV Engineering has been a leader in passive and active wireless sensing for over ten years. From its start as an outsourced research development organization for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company developing the world's first passive tire pressure monitoring system, Phase IV has been an innovator in the wireless sensing industry. From this starting point, Phase IV has leveraged its expertise into the newest generation of RFID sensing technology and infrastructure-free high-value asset tracking and monitoring products.
Phase IV's RFID sensing technology is fast moving into the marketplace with our latest Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) the core of Crane Aerospace & Electronics' SmartStem™ tire pressure monitoring system. SmartStem™ is a wireless pressure and temperature sensor built into the tire’s inflation stem that makes the daily tire pressure check quick, easy, accurate, and automatically documented. This technology has been selected for the latest Onboard Tire and Brake Monitoring System (TBMS) for current production Boeing aircraft. This technology is passive, obtaining its operating power from an external reader or interrogator. When the reader is close to the coil attached to Phase IV's ASIC, the circuit uses the reader's signal to power measurement and communication of identification or sensor information. The advantage to this system is that there are no batteries, power sources, or wires.
Active Wireless Asset Visibility Electronics (AWAVE™) Over the past five years, Phase IV has been working with various branches of the Department of Defense to develop the latest in high value asset tracking. With Phase IV's Wireless Tracking Solutions, tracking assets and manifests is just the beginning. Our wireless tracking, sensing, and security solutions allow events to be captured, right at the source, and deliver the information immediately. Our wireless sensing nodes can monitor temperature, humidity, or G-shock, and trigger alerts. Our Tamper Evident devices monitor door opening, support authentication and authorization, and can transmit security alarms.
By offering standard communication interfaces, including serial ports, USB, Ethernet and WiFi, GPS, cellular, and SATCOM, you can dock and sync with an Intermec handheld reader; sneaker net with a memory stick; connect with standard LANs; maintain accurate geographical location; and securely transmit data from anywhere on the globe. Our systems have tracked containers on trucks, trains, and ships, and reliably delivered location, manifest, and sensor data, both on land and at sea.
Phase IV's Wireless Tracking Solutions are all about improving efficiencies. Saving time and money.
